One of our favorite artists at Grateful Music Jackie Greene announced a new EP The Modern Lives Vol 1. The six song EP will be self recorded and produced by Jackie Greene in Brooklyn, New York. The EP is available on October 13, 2017 via Blue Rose Music/The End Records on digital, CD and LP formats. Kevin Long Below is from Jackie Greene's website  Hailed as the Prince of Americana; by The New York Times, Greene has always had a knack for capturing the human experience in all its messy, emotional complexity. On his new EP, he draws inspiration from some of the great social paradoxes of our 21 st century world: that the technology designed to simplify our lives can actually complicate them in ways we’d never imagined, that the most crowded cities can actually be the loneliest places to live, that the constructs meant to connect us to each other can actually leave us…

While moe. was setting up for Moe.Down 16 they performed Phish's classic Chalkdust Torture for the early arrivals. The version is half serious and half dirty, but fun nonetheless. moe. Was heard joking saying you paid for it and in hindsight everyone at Moe.Down 16 certainly got their money worth. Even if it was not well spent on this whimsical cover.  Kevin

Photo: Ron Adelberg      It's no secret that I believe Steve Kimock is the best living guitar player. He combined his skills with Reed Mathis' Electric Beethoven for an after show following Dead and Company's first night in Chicago. To my pleasant surprise they performed many of Kimock's classics as well as some Beethoven. It was a joy to see Kimock backed by Jay Lane, Reed Mathis and Todd Stoops. Check out both sets of this magical combination.  Kevin Long

After taking a few years off, Moe.Down returned to Turin, N.Y this past weekend for their 16th festival. By every account it was a huge success as moe. performed seven sets with plenty of collaborations with their fellow performers. The music was epic and had all the moe.rons in paradise as they played plenty of bustouts and rare covers. Thanks to Rob Clarke and Jambase we have access to all seven sets of moe.'s inspired music.
