Watch the complete J RAD shows from The Ogden and The First Bank Center in Denver earlier this summer. Plus a show from The Joy Theatre in New Orleans. Epic is an understatement! Plus my 411 on how J-Rad will take over the world.

Dead and Company just finished up a celebrated Summer Tour. They have a special chemistry and it's the best band Bobby's played in since The Other Ones in 1998 with Kimock, Hornsby and Dave Ellis on saxophone. I also enjoyed The Dead tour with Haynes and Herring but Dead and Company has the "it"factor. But the songs are still in Bobby time, which is much more jazzy and slower than the Grateful Dead and often can lead to falling over while dancing.
Then there is Joe Russo's Almost Dead a band that has the "it" factor in spades. This accidental tribute band plays the songs at the speed of light. They are the Grateful Dead on Steroids and perform the vast catologue of sacred tunes any way but predictable. What was meant to be a one night stand has blossomed into a co dependent marriage. If a Grateful Dead  concert was church then a J-RAD show is akin to church in a Southern inner city that ends when everyone has sweated through their Sunday whites. You may not be on the bus yet but it's not if, it's just a matter of time. I witnessed their coming out party in Broomfeild and the sold out arena was in awe. Fast forward twenty years and J-Rad will be playing stadiums because this song it ain't never going to end.
Enjoy three shows from Spring tour, including the aforementioned Brookfield with a complete Terrapin Suite that melted the security's faces. Enjoy
