The rock world is still shocked and in mourning over Chris Cornell's suicide shortly after his band Soundgarden played a show in Detroit on Tuesday night. Umphrey's McGee honored him in Norfolk, Virgina at The Nor Va. They paid tribute to Chris in the second set with an exceptional version of "Hunger Strike" from his supergroup Temple of the Dog. They opened the second set with "Der Bluten Kat" which bled into their debut performance of "Hunger Strike". Brandon Bayliss sang Eddie Vender's lines and drummer  Kris Meyers handled Chris Cornell's lines perfectly. They also encored the show with an emotional  "Hajimemashite > Glory > Hajimemashite". The video of Hunger Strike can be watched below and thanks to Jambase and Taper opsopcopolis you can stream this amazing show. Among other gems they do a great cover of Mark Knopfler's "Were going to War". Leave it to this amazing six piece to play such a perfect tribute.
