Today is the release to the soundtrack to Amer Bar-Levs masterpiece Long Strange Trip. Listen to it here.

Last night much like the Grateful Dead changed concerts forever, "Long Strange Trip" will forever change what a movie can achieve. Thanks to Jambase.com( where you should be visiting even before brunch here) for bringing it to my attention. Stream the 2 CD version of the soundtrack below.  The "Stella Blue" from The Zoo Theatre in Oklahoma City from 1981 brought tears to the entire audience. Other highlights include the "Dark Star" and the "Morning Dew" performed 45 years ago today. This brilliant soundtrack was co produced by the now legendary director Bar-Lev and G.D archivist David Lemieux.  There will be two versions of the soundtrack released on C.D.  One is the one below that will be shared on streaming services. The expanded version is a 3 CD set and is only available through Amazon and their streaming services. But the real jewel will be released later in the summer when all the music  will be collected and packaged on 6 L.P.s including all the music. The vinyl collection will be limited to only 2,500 copies.
Lemieux sums it up perfectly with this quote released in a statement, “All in all, this is unlike any other Grateful Dead release we’ve ever produced-just as the film is unlike any other Grateful Dead audiovisual document ever made. Then again, it’s simply unlike any other music documentary ever made, which is appropriate considering that there’s no band like the Grateful Dead,” . Goddamn right!
