John Mayer and Dave Chappelle welcomes Bob Weir for a welcomed Friend of the Devil at the Fillmore this weekend.

John Mayer and Dave Chappelle hosted a pair of shows over the weekend at The Fillmore in San Francisco titled "Controlled Danger". Both nights John Mayer would start the evening with a set of solo acoustic material followed by Dave Chappelle's stand up routine. Then they would perform together.  On Saturday night Bob Weir joined "Dead and Company" bandmate for a stirring version of " Friend of the Devil". Bob's appearance inspired Dave set because Chappelle went of script poking fun at Bob Weir. He told jokes about Bob Weir's appearance. After Chappelle stand up routine, John joined him on stage playing acoustic guitar to accompany his jokes. They even did a few duets included Mellencamp's "Jack and Diane". I will keep a look out for some video of this performance.
