Desert Trip was arguably the best lineup in rock and or roll history. They literally booked six of the best rock bands of all time.  But the money wheel that was Desert Trip will certainly spin with many more millions at stake and nobody in the music industry stops when they are ahead. The promoters are silently trying to lineup six more acts that will fill their pockets and they can still pretend to be liberal. I came up with 10 bands that would have most music junkies begging for dusty clothes and empty wallets. Some of these is a long shot, but a fan can day dream. 1 The Grateful Dead is a long shot, but we learned at Fare Thee Phil that the boys are not opposed to a pay day. 2 Fleetwood Mac has actually been thrown around by other publications and is likely to make an appearance.
3 The Talking Heads could kill 2 birds with one venue make a shit load of money and reunite without taking away from Byrne's mostly hollow solo career. 4. Guns and Roses feels like a great possibility with them literally on the road. 5 U.2........ I never said I was going, damn! 6 Simon & Garfunkel would cause a stir but I feel Art has got enough lucky money in one lifetime. 7 The Police are not against a huge payday. 8 Pink Floyd has announced that they will do almost anything but play together but there would be millions of reasons to play one last Swan song. 9 Genius with Gabriel would get me to the left coast. 10 Eric Clapton usually gets mistaken for a savant. Honorable Mention Bruce Springsteen because he is the boss and gives one hell of a performance. It's all speculation for now, but what bands do you think would make a nice addition.
