"The Grateful Dead Movie" will celebrate its 40th anniversary by returning to Theaters on April 20th for one night only.

"The Grateful Dead Movie" premiered forty years ago and will return to select theatres on April 20th for one night only. The movie was made from footage of the band's five night run at San Francisco's Winderland in 1974. The historic run was the end of the historic venue, Winderland closed its doors after the Dead's farewell run. If going to see this magnificent film with modern technology was not enough reason, a clip will be shown of the long awaited Grateful Dead Documentary "Long Strange Trip". It will appear on Amazon Prime in the near future. Also another preview will make its first appearance from a mini documentary about the historic May 8th 1977 show at Cornell University. The mini documentary also boasts interviews from the fans who witnessed magic that evening.

Tickets to watch the film can be bought online here or at participating theaters. Over 500 movie theaters will be partaking in the celebration and screen the film for one night. For a complete list, click here
