Hawaii and Alaska have been showered with amazing music this year and I think it's about time. Grateful Music reported how Bob Weir joined The Dave Nelson Band for a three show run in Alaska last week. This weekend Steve Kimock will share his magic in paradise, when he visits Hawaii for three big shows. His band will be familiar friends Jeff Chimenti, Bobby Vega and Wally Ingram on drums. Steve has been creating masterful shows over the past few months. I can't think of better scenery or vibes for this compelling band to perform this weekend.

If you are a collector of show art then the name Dave Hunter is embedded in your heart and his art hangs on your walls. On May 12th Steve Kimock is hosting a benefit to help Dave Hunter fight for his life. He has been diagnosed with brain cancer and Kimock has a special evening planned to raise funds to assist in David's medical treatment. The following information and words are from Kimock's website.

Art and Soul: A Concert to Benefit Dave Hunter
Dave Hunter, graphic artist and visionary poster designer has created so much art for us over the years…. we are gathering in community for a benefit concert in his honor to help him in his fight against brain cancer.  Please join us!
On Friday, May 12th, Steve Kimock & Friends, featuring Steve Kimock,  Jeff Chimenti, Bobby VegaJohn Morgan Kimock and Leslie Mendelson, plus very special guests, will take the stage on Dave’s behalf.  We look forward to bringing this line-up to the stage again; it will be the first show together since our incredible Japan tour at the beginning of the year.
Opening for SK&F will be the band Disreputable Few, made up of Los Angeles area musicians who recently backed Bob Weir in several appearances at this year’s NAMM show. Divine and illuminating visuals will be by artist Jonathan Singer.
There will be a silent auction, raffle and a poster art show bringing together some of the best of the Bay Area.  Dave is a gifted artist who has created work for Metallica, the Neville Brothers and Dr. John, Les Claypool, Clapton and many more.
We can’t get through life alone. “Art and Soul” will not only be a joyous celebration through elevated music, but a healing experience that not only Dave but all attending can share in.
