Joe Russo's Almost Dead marked their 100th show with the debut of their first original last night. Watch it here. Videos, Setlist and 411

On January 26, 2013 Joe Russo gathered his friends for a tribute to The Grateful Dead at the Brooklyn Bowl. It's was supposed to be a one time party. But the toothpaste was let out of the tube and music that special has a way of carrying on. Last night they performed their 100th show. The historic night was honored from the beginning with Joe drumming 100 beats leading into the opening number "Beat It On Down the Line". What followed was exactly why this band is so unique, instead of mimicking the Dead's catologue they turn it's on its head. For instance, "Help>Slip>(Throwing Stones Jam)>Minglewood Blues was played last night and that type of musical sandwich is always on their menu. The most important tune of the evening was the debut of JRAD's first ever original song titled "Keeping it Simple". This could not be more of an exciting development if we want this band to keep the vibe alive into the next 100 shows.
The run continues tonight and can be streamed on nugs.net. Thanks to Jambase we can enjoy the debut of Keeping it Simple and other videos.
