As most of you know our website started out being Phish and the Dead. This was ten years ago and linking the two bands together went over like "Samba in the Rain" into Drums for a large majority of open minded fans. Our club was way ahead of our time, imagine that liking two of the best bands of all time was risky. But similar to Grateful Music we did not give a fuck back then either. Since then Phish reunited and Fare Thee Phil for GD50 helped warm up the Dead heads to Phish and vice versa. But damn! We got Drake dropping GD references in his raps and the two bands just keep finding their way into the mainstream.
Dania Bennett who is obviously a fan of some jam, was hired to write an episode of "Criminal Minds" that aired last night. She took to Instagram before the episode premiered to let us know she put in more than a few Phish and Grateful Dead references into the episode. Dania sure made it obvious because almost every name had winks to my favorite live bands.
Live For Live Music rounded up a ton of the  references with help from the Phish Tour 2014 Facebook group. The show is most likely like C.S.I or Law and Order, but I could be wrong because I have never watched an episode. But last night “Tom Pollak,” "Reba Wilson", "Paul McConnell" along with a host of wink to the kings of jam were all present. Here are some videos so you can meet "Jim Ernesto" and "Janis Weir" yourself. I remember when all we had was Bill Walton calling a Grateful basketball game. But these days Weir truly Everywhere
Thanks to L4LM and Jambase for the heads up. My DVR stop recording cop show after Knight Rider and The A-Team.

. Here’s video from L4LM via Kevin Emery featuring just some of the references:
