David Bowie won all 5 Grammy Awards last night for the 5 nominations his timeless swansong album Blackstar

David Bowie won all 5 Grammy Awards last night. He was nominated 5 times and won each category. It took Death turned into brilliance for his validation from the industry. He won all for his timeless swansong album Blackstar. Adele won five as well.

David Bowie up until last night had only won one Grammy over his brilliant career. In 1985 they gave him one for a song that frankly did not deserve it. Well maybe it sounded better next to Warrent. I am not saying that mainstream music sucked in the mid 80s, it was much worse. It was generic and the industry was run by Business men. So even at a young age I knew the Grammies were insignificant and had very little in common with talent. I am saying that "Dont worry be happy" and "L.L. Cool J" beat the Talking Heads.  I think it was around "Born in the U.S.A" or "Banana Rama" or it was "Chicago" singing cheesy love songs  and movie soundtracks,  while fired bandmate Peter Gabriel continued to over shadow his old band. Only he did it from a different continent instead of sharing a stage. But they actually got this one right. It was no Lifetime Achievement award in disguise. "Blackstar" touched that part of my soul only humans are lucky enough to comprehend just how deep music can be. And frankly music has never had this particular effect on me. We did not know the depths of his brilliant art. I always knew he was chosen to challenge the status quo. But I never understood another persons thoughts while dying. It was taboo since humans evolved to bury their own. Death is the end of this rat race for the vast majority of people.  David Bowie simply became Blackstar. He will forever rest in power. Adele also won five, so two steps forward only to become irrelevant again. Here are the five categories.
