Trey Anastasio, A Fellow Drug Court Graduate, Delivers A Speech Today and Congratulates Drug Court Graduates

Trey Anastasio, A Fellow Drug Court Graduate, Delivers A Speech Today and Congratulates Drug Court Graduates.

Trey Anastasio and myself have more in common than the 200 plus shows I have shared with his band Phish. We both are addicts and were arrested with narcotics. I graduated the Memphis Drug Court Program under Judge Dwyer in 2003 and it honestly saved my life. Trey also completed Washington County's drug court program in New York and faced his demons. We can all attest to the positive effect it has has on his life.
Today, The Post Star Reported that Trey spoke for almost half an hour to those who completed the program today.
"The night I got arrested, I could not go ten minutes without taking something,". Trey went on to share"Nine years later, I don't think about drinking or drugging anymore".
Trey Anastasio does not have to take time out of his busy schedule to talk to the graduates. His deal with the court ended the day he graduated. I believe he returns to speak occasionally because he honestly covets the gift drug court allowed him. Please look into your local Drug Courts and you may be surprised that you don't find one in your city. Get out there and vote these judges out that keep locking up people with health problems. Today is just another reason to love Trey Anastasio.
