Summer Camp Preview 5/26 - 5/29 Chillicothe, IlSummer Camp is more than a festival it's a journey homeward

Summer Camp is more than a festival it's a journey homeward.

Each Year On the Way to Chillicothe a Familiar Feeling always floods my senses : It's Summer Camp time! And I am Home Once Again.

Looking back to the days when I roamed the halls of my high school, I am just as giddy as that tennager that used to have to lie to attend musical and cultural paradise. Since 2010, I have not missed one year. But I still count down the days to yet another Summer Camp. Every year they make improvements without changing the culture or vibe . Three Sisters Park never failed to impress me each year we became closer.   As my sixth year! I have learned the nuances that ensures my family and I take advantage of our experience.

The Top Ten List You Won't Do In Order Anyways.
1. If you pre-party, be easy on yourself. Like Phish has said "Never Turn Your Brain to Mush". You have a whole weekend ahead of you. Save the crazy for Saturday!Stay hydrated and eat protein. If you must indulge be smart. (Always use a test kit, if you are indulging)
2. Take the time to visit and make your way around to the all the shops, it's a perfect way to get a walk, and enjoy the Sunshine with a good friend, or meet new ones. Head into Sunshine Daydream hippie shop =nuff said
3. Find the photo guy, and get you and your crew a great photo of you all together!
4. Walk the whole forest at night time. If you get lost than your doing well.
5. Orange Duck tape saves you from tripping over the wook traps, or tent ties.
6. Give some of your time to see bands you haven't before, or to choose the ones you haven't seen as much. Broaden your horizons.
7. Bring your rain gear, truth of the matter is you never really know at Summer Camp with the weather.
8. Get yourself a fried peanut butter and jelly!
9. Make friends with your neighbors, be helpful, share, and give them a good time if their lonesome.
10. Dance and Repeat! Oh yea, take a ride on the ferris wheel.

4. MIKE DILLONS NEW ORLEANS PUNK ROCK PERCUSSION CONSORTIUM. "People are always trying to figure out how to describe our music. Maybe we should call it New Orleans punk jazz Brazilian math rock? It’s a gumbo of tribal percussion, The Meters, old school hardcore, Brazil, hard bop and anything else that might move us,” concludes Dillon. “But you know, I really don’t care what you call it. We kick out the jams harder than anyone, and we also know when to heed the lessons of The Minutemen's Double Nickels On The Dime and keep things straight to the point. There’s a reason we called the record what we did. We’re the living, breathing definition of a band of outsiders, but together we deliver simple majestic beauty.” - Mike Dillon.
