Alarm Clock Warning. Tomorrow is Record Store Day.A guide for this special Saturday.

On Saturday, April 16, over 1,000 independently owned record stores in the U.S. and hundreds of similar stores around the globe unite for one big vinyl orgy. RSD is when participating stores add newly pressed, usually limited-edition records released especially for the annual occasion by both indies and major labels alike. If there’s one release this year that proves how special it's become —it’s seminal garage band The Sonics’ Live At Easy Street. The album was recorded  at s Seattle in-store performance on last year’s RSD featuring guests such as Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, Screaming Trees’ Van Conner, Soundgarden’s Ben Shepherd, and Mudhoney alumni Matt Lukin. (Lukin on “Louie Louie”=What a day). We have are usual Phish and The Dead love,  along with practically every Jam Band  following their lead. Numbered just to inspire the professional eBay  assholes  to camp out. Tip#1 Get there early!!! Like Now if you can. Tip#2 Most record store owners only let 2 shop at a time and limits the rare releases one per person. Tip#3 This is big and ruined a RSD for me. The store can and will charge you way more than it is advertised for. So bringing a credit card would be my plan of attack if I had any credit.
This year’s crop of exclusive release treats includes everything from a simple two-track 7-inch single to massive multiple album sets. Among the more straightforward is a good, old-fashioned black vinyl couplet from Mudcrutch (Tom Petty, Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench, Randall Marsh and Tom Leadon). The A side, “Trailer,” is backed with “Beautiful World,” those songs will be on the supergroup’s album, due out later this year. I want Warren Zevon's unreleased shit &  The Flaming Lips package (with Comic of course). But Most of all shop and remember why this day got started. For the local Record Store make some money. If you oversleep head over to my eBay store.
