Bobby, Phil, Billy, Mickey with Bruce Hornsby, Jeff Chimenti and Trey Anastasio - July 3,4,5, 2015 - Soldier Field, Chicago - Fare Thee Well......Grateful Dead 50th!

We started out being called "Phish and The Dead" and this show will be the melding of the two. A nice touch a good portion of our readers, but I'm sure adding Trey will be controversial as no one man could ever replace Jerry, what Trey can do is put a whole bunch of Phans in the seats at the 50+thousand person football stadium! So it's official, Trey Anastasio will join the four living original members of The Grateful Dead for three 50th-anniversary shows July 3-5 in Chicago at Soldier Field. The Dead's last performance with Jerry Garcia, who died in August 1995, was at the same venue in 1995, a bittersweet show for many.

The sense of closure is no accident: These shows are likely to be the finale for the "core four," as the surviving members are now known: Bob Weir, 67; Phil Lesh, 74; Mickey Hart, 71; and Bill Kreutzmann, 68.

Sounds like Peter Shapiro inked this deal and though we know the band mates will continue to make music with Phil and Friends, Billy and The Kids, Ratdog, and The Micky Hart Band, this might just be it.

Adding Trey brings on a HUGE element because a lot of DeadHeads disk-like the Phish energy that came on tour in early to mid 90's while many others jumped one bands tour for the next, especially after passing of front man Garcia.

Tickets will be available to fan club members on a first-come, first-served basis from Feb. 9th to the 11th. A local public presale will occur Feb. 12-13; a general public on-sale starts Feb. 14.
