Festival Preview: YMSB's Harvest Music Festival - Mulberry Mountain - Ozark, AR - Oct 17th-19th, 2013

This year will be my third year attending the festival, but I haven’t missed one since my first back in 2011.  I don’t plan on missing one in the near future.  Harvest Festival is my favorite festival of the year, it's timing, lineup, location and over all vibe draws me back like a magnet.  Simply, it is something that I look forward to year-round.  The biggest attraction of the festival to me is definitely the three nights of Yonder Mountain String Band, because I would definitely consider myself to be a superfan.  There are almost too many great acts to list this year, between Tedeschi-Trucks Band, Railroad Earth, Greensky Bluegrass, a new Les Claypool duo, and so on.  Beyond the music, the festival’s atmosphere continues to call me back year after year.  Compared to most big festivals over the summer (read: Wakarusa, Bonnaroo, Summer Camp, etc.)  Harvest Festival is tiny.  Last year, they capped the number of tickets at 7,500.  The small number of people gives the festival a much greater sense of community.  The fall weather in mid-October on Mulberry Mountain is perfect at night too.

To beat that dead horse, I love this festival and am honored to be on the team of media music specialist from GratefulMusic.com that get to expose this beautiful secret tucked in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas.  It’s a special festival that more people need to know about, and I would be glad to know that I did my part in spreading the word.  See you there.
