YMSB w/ Phil Lesh @ Terrapin Crossroads - Aug 4th, 2012
Yonder Mountain String Band has always played music by its own set of rules. Bending bluegrass, rock and countless other influences that the band cites, Yonder has pioneered a sound of their own. With their traditional lineup of instruments, the band may look like a traditional bluegrass band at first glance, but they’ve created their own music that transcends any genre.
Comprised of Adam Aijala (guitar, vocals), Jeff Austin (mandolin, vocals), Dave Johnston (banjo, vocals) and Ben Kaufmann (bass, vocals), Yonder Mountain String Band has one of the strongest touring bases in the industry, with fans and critics alike drawn to both their live shows and singular studio albums.
Fresh off its appearance at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival (June 20-23), Yonder Mountain will appear at more that a dozen premier music festivals across the country this summer, including the All Good Music Festival (July 20), Northwest String Summit (August 9-12), and its annual fan appreciation Kinfolk Celebration at Planet Bluegrass Ranch (August 24-25).
Even with such a busy summer schedule in place, the band will return to the SF Bay Area to perform at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael this August 4th. Having always wanted to perform in such a legendary venue, Yonder Mountain is honored to make its first appearance. Don’t don’t miss this extraordinary event as Phil Lesh joins Yonder Mountain onstage for a very special evening!
