News: Harmony Festival POSTPONED FOR 2012

from The Harmony Festival:

Dear Harmony Festival Community,
The Harmony Festival Organization sincerely thanks you for your continued support throughout the last 33 years, as the Harmony Festival evolved from a small grassroots community event in 1978, known as Health and Harmony Festival, into the nationally renowned music, arts and progressive cultural Harmony Festival, that you've come to love year after year.
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce that we will not be producing a Harmony Festival in Santa Rosa, CA in June 2012, but instead taking the time to re-envision and reorganize, to potentially produce the Harmony Festival in the future.
We know this news is a great disappointment to the entire Harmony community at large, and know that the Harmony Festival organization deeply shares your feelings. We spent many months creatively exploring dozens of promising options in the hopes that we could keep this magical event alive this year. But various economic challenges of 2011 Festival, including the down economic climate, ticket counterfeiting, bad weather leading up to the festival, age restrictions on our nighttime events imposed by the fairgrounds facility, and various other factors led to this unavoidable decision.
We are working on plans to reorganize the company and establish the possibility of creating Harmony Festivals in the future. We are counting on engaging your participation as we re-envision the festival, and gather support to solve the issues and financial challenges of the past, and move forward towards creating a sustainable future for the festival. We also ask that you assist in communicating this message within your own community, in the most positive light possible.
As the year of 2012 inspires many shifts around the planet and in our personal lives, we accept this now as an opportunity to realign and bring into balance, this precious, important and valuable community gathering so it can continue to serve as a catalyst towards bringing "Harmony" to our community, our planet, and ourselves.
With Deep Appreciation, Love, and Harmony,
The Harmony Festival Organization
