Furthur Festival at Mountain Aire will be taking place in Angel's Camp, California this Memorial Day weekend. They have added more bands aside from themselves, Furthur will be playing both nights. But with a total of four stages, as it's been pointed out to me the line up is weak. Jackie Greene, The Mother Hips, Galactic and The Waybacks are all very eye catching bands, not headliners, though.
And then Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams, Mark Karan & Jemimah Puddleduck, Electric Hot Tuna, Carney, Maiden Lane etc are very small names. It does have a family feel. But what about Particle, Gov't Mule, and other larger more eclectic names?

Electric Hot Tuna is NOT a very small name. You must live in a limited sphere.
Jackie Greene IS a headliner! Great music, great concert.
seriously, whoever wrote this should not write for public use ever again. sounds like a fabulous show!
Someone who does not know that Jack and Jorma were in Jefferson Airplane, and I agree that Jackie Greene is an amazing performer both live and studio.
Jackie is one of the best "up and coming" singer/songwriters I have seen in years. He is always amazing. Jorma Kaukonen (sp) continues to be a great guitar virtuoso who does not play that often in public.
Who has been to MountainAire before? What is the venue like for the audience? Are we mostly standing and packed in or is there enough space to keep a blanket and still have a good view?
We have a 4 person tent we intend to set up at our parking space. Will there be room? Is it crowded and noisy or spreadout for some privacy?
We plan on bringing bikes to get around. Good idea?
I cain't say much about the line-up, but the party will rock {:
line-up is on the less strong side...
Did Phil and Bobby get told not to open the psychic space at mountain aire?
Was the album cover crap a way to limit the number of people in attendance. If I would have heard they were covering albums before I bought the tickets I would not have gone.
The show was the deadest dead show I was ever at. left evernight halfway through 2nd set.
My Highlight saturday night was finding a clean toilet and taking a dump while Bobby sang One More Saturday Night. Which is a classic closer for a show that did not go any where.
There was hardly any dancing.
It was very disapointing after the increadable Bay area shows in the recent past.
I PERSONALLY THOUGHT THIS SHOW WAS GREAT! AND I LOVE EACH ONE OF THESE BANDS, IT WAS A WOUNDERFUL LINE UP! DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR AND I WILL GO:) SO WILL AT LEAST FIVE PEOPLE I KNOW :)
