I was riding that rail front and center with my blue bear ears on and my girl (in pink bear ears) at my side! Made three calls in the second set and nearly lost my shit during Days Between. By far the best "Dead" show I have been to yet!

I would have greatly preferred some of the other setlists they have recently played. Despite that, though, I thought the show was tremendous. For me, the highlights in the first set were Dupree's Diamond Blues (my favorite in that set), Passenger, Black Throated Wind, and, oddly, Mama Tried. I thought that was just a very, very good Mama Tried.

In the second set, I thought the highlights were all the Jerry/Kadlecik stuff: Scarlet/Fire and China/Rider, of course. They tore those up. But I also loved the Reuben and Cherise. I just love that song. And Kadlecik nailed it, much in the same way he nailed Dupree's. I also enjoyed the encores (although I would have been bummed in they had ended with Knockin' on Heaven's Door -- I've seen that happen too many times). I could have lived without Bucket, West L.A., and, especially, Days Between. But what the hell, they were actually well-played. I just would much rather have seen an Estimated or a Playing in the Band, or (best of all posssibilities) had Phil sing Unbroken Chain.

But still, it was great. I honestly never thought I'd ever see Scarlet/Fire or China/Rider played like that again.
