Chriss Berry Trio add's SF Guitar Virtuoso Steve Kimock to West Coast Tour

Chris Berry is a Grammy winning, international platinum selling artist. Chris Berry, born in Sonoma County CA. developed his career out of the ghettos of Zimbabwe where he lived. There, he studied the sacred Mbira (African Thumb Piano)and created very controversial songs and lyrics against the tyrannical Zimbabwean regime. Berry eventually had to flee for his safely. Chris Berry brings to the table intense lyricism as well as impeccable Mbira playing. He also drops beats on the hand drum like it was a extension of himself. Despite the roots instruments he plays his style often delves into reggae, dancehall, pop, hip hop, electronic, and blues, all a unique way. Chris Berry’s other band which includes Michael Kang of String Cheese Incident is platinum album selling Panjea. Berry won a Grammy for composition with Paul Winter. Panjea has performed at the Australian Olympics, Sydney Opera house as well as some of the US's largest festivals.
